Conference Presentation: 2019 Yale Center for Cultural Sociology Annual Conference
The annual Yale CCS Spring Conference was held on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27., with plenary speakers CCS Director Philip Smith and Faculty Fellow Isaac Reed.
I presented my latest work on audience agency in charismatic performance theory, a paper called “Audiences Becoming Actors in Charismatic Performance: A study of Sarah Osborn and George Whitefield in the Great Awakening.”
We also heard from CCS Faculty Fellow Eric Malczewski, Visiting Fellow Mervyn Horgan, and Professor Saara Liinamaa, along with our own CCS Junior Fellows, students from The State University of New York at Albany, The University of Virginia and Guelph University, Canada, and visitors to the Department of Sociology.
The annual spring conference at Yale CCS is a highlight of my year. It’s great to network with CCS fellows and visiting students who are committed to cultural sociology, and we always have a great time at our Saturday banquet!
