Hi, I’m Anne.
I’m a PhD student in the Sociology department at Yale University. I am interested in things like American evangelicalism, the power of charisma, and religious revivals, as well as political revolutions, empires, cultural trauma, and the power of collective memory and narrative.
Put simply, I study religion, politics, and culture. My work is truly a passion.
I love to write, teach, and do research. I plan to be a professor.
Other loves? Here’s the current list of things that put a smile on my face: CrossFit with my partner, Spencer (who is also my coach!), traveling, learning French, TV and film, and renovating my house.
I’ve been blogging on and off since 2004. I’m excited to dust off this space, and get back to writing and engaging with my active community of readers on subjects like travel, wellness, spirituality, culture, home design, and the journey towards getting my PhD.
I’m glad you’re here! Welcome.
